KitKat Lapghan

Good Sunday Morning!
Yesterday we had a good soaking rain here in Hammond, Louisiana. It got pretty hairy for a lil while as we were in a tornado warning in the late morning and rain all day. Thank goodness we watched the weather earlier in the week and prepared for it. Didn't have to leave the house at all!
I've had this lapghan finished for a couple of weeks now, but didn't want to show it yet as I haven't had the chance to get it to the recepient. I don't think she reads my blog (I don't think she even knows about it) so I feel safe to show it finally.
I made this for Kitty (affectionally known as KitKat) and Sam Morrison, two dear friends who have been having some rough patches healthwise. Sam has a form of Leukemia and heart issues and Kitty has recently had a heart attack and two stents placed. Both are doing ok now, but God put it in my heart to make a 'prayer lapghan' for them. Many of you know about prayer shawls, but I made a prayer lapghan for the both of them to snuggle under! Before I would start working on it, I would say a prayer for them and would just pray and think about them as I crocheted. I hope they like it....IF I ever get it to them! Here is some pics of it:

It measures 41" x 48" and is made with Lion Brand Homespun 'Mimosa'.
The yarn was difficult to crochet with at first, but I got used to it and it was a pure joy to work with!  Will definately use Homespun again. I loved making it and loved praying for KitKat and Sam while working on it.
Update on the 'Night Moves' Lapghan....I finally finished the squares last night. I've got 35 squares and will start today after Mass and lunch at Olive Garden stitching them together. I hope to finish it and get pics up soon.

Blessings to you,
Denise
