I am doing this in honor of my sister, Ouida, who passed in November of 2003 of breast cancer. Bless her heart, she was a survivor for 18 years. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1985 and had a double mastectomy then. She was a soft spoken, kind heart who was really laid back and didn't let too many things bother her (or so she let on). I miss her terribly, but I know she is with The Lord and is finally out of pain.
I hope to finish many of these and sell the finished pieces to offset my own medical expenses and cross stitch/crochet addiction. I sort of treat my needlework (crochet and cross stitch) like the prayer shawls people make....every stitch is done with love and hope and prayer for brighter tomorrows to each recipient.
Here it is...ready to stitch! I was gonna wait til January 1, 2012 to start, but I finished Missys' 'Binkie' earlier than expected. I don't have any WIPs at the moment, so I'm thinking I'll start this tonight.
Blessings to you,
~Denise
